Ok so here is the reason for our visit. We saw this place on TV and had to make it a point to try the food out for ourselves while passing through Superior, WI. On Tv all the food looked amazing! So here we are.... So we showed up for dinner and walked into a large empty restaurant. I mean ghost town.... We were the only ones in here, but left another stop right down the road minutes before coming here and they were packed. A line out the door to get in and then once in standing room only. This however did not scare us away... if anything I thought great they will have more time to make our food look and taste great. We were served by an awesome young lady who was very nice. She got us drinks right away, told us a bit about the place and then she recommended a few local favorites to try. We started with some stuffed meatballs called Juicy Lucy's and we had a few of the best $3.00 homemade egg rolls ever served with an amazing plum sauce. I would say you gotta try one of these. Then for dinner my daughter wanted her own cheese pizza and we ordered the famous Smoked Meat Pizza. Yummy! It hit the spot.... Cooked perfectly... Flavors were great, fresh cut meats, crispy crust, lots of toppings coming right out of their smoked meat shop.... Just a wonderful pizza. They had a wonderful craft beer selection of a lot of local breweries. Down side was they offered no flight options to try any of them. The place was big, one side restaurant and the other side was a big bar. The place was pretty clean and well kept. One thing my wife and I both did notice and commented on and I'm sure others have noticed or laughed about was everywhere you looked in this place they reminded of the fact they were on TV. There was a banner outside, pictures all over the inside, a large sign on the wall inside the restaurant, on the menus, on the tables and on and on. We got it... It is impressive! But It was like without the show stopping here the place would have no identity it felt like. Funniest part was the show was shot and aired in like 2013 / 2014.... So they still are holding on to that.... We were told by locals and don't know if it is true or not! That the owners pay the television show to visit their restaurants. Which would be truly sad if that is true! Regardless of the show, how busy the place was, or any of that.... We are so glad we stopped. The food was great and we both agreed if we are back in Superior, WI area we will visit this place again. We also will be telling our friends and family about it!

Great place to eat. You have to stop here and check out all the variety of different items on the menu in on the bar menu. Plenty of parking even for our 40 foot RV in which of course we parked in a parking lot of theirs, but it was a slow afternoon. Our waitress, Ivy , ( who was the bomb Diggity most friendliest waitress I've had in a long time!!!!!!) She pointed out several items on menu and said the portions were large. She was not kidding! Hubby and I ordered the Canadian eggrolls with plum sauce. They were huge!!!! Could've made a meal out of them. I didn't order the chicken pot pie that had a flaky tender crust on the bottom and the top and you could definitely share between two people. It was creamy with big chunks of chicken carrots potatoes peas and a lovely gravy. My husband ordered the meatloaf they came with mashed potatoes and gravy. I tasted it and it was even better than mine. I would recommend coming back for several reasons !!! Service by Ivy was top gun number 1!!!

Sports bar with good food, staff, and clientele. Could watch games if you wanted without blaring noise or have bite to eat and conversation. Will definitely return.

This would be a 3.5 star review. Shorty's got a big showing on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and they have no hesitation in making sure you don't forget. There are murals on the walls, a full neon sign, and a large banner outside. The first thing that caught my attention was the 240 oz. Red Solo Cup that you can order your beer in. WHAT!? If you're feeling less adventurous, how about just the 92 oz. option... We started off with the egg rolls, which might sound odd but the owner is paying homage to a restaurant in Ottawa that closed 40+ years ago. Sounds intriguing, right? They were pretty good, but lacked some of the traditional crunch you expect. They are HUGE, by the way, which is why the middle might be too soft for my liking. Either way, these were still a very good starter. As for the pizza, we had to do the Triple D. Essentially every possibly meat thrown on a Canadian-Style Pizza. Do I know what Canadian-Style is? No, of course not. But I do know it was a solid pizza. Not the best I've had, but very solid nonetheless.

Tried this place based on Yelp reviews. Found out when I got here that Guy F from Triple D had been here. I ordered French Onion Soup and a regular size Reuben sandwich. Soup presentation was great. Consistency of the soup was great too. Where it fell a bit short for me was the sweetness. It seemed sweeter than just the use of sweet onions. Still a decent soup. The Reuben was very good. The meat was quite flavorful. It was a bit lightly sauced for my taste, so I asked for more Thousand Island dressing on the side. All the difference! I'd order this again. I took a bite of the Meatball sandwich my wife ordered. The meatball was flavorful, albeit a bit spicy. Here again, it was light on sauce. My wife didn't ask for any extra sauce but also felt it needed more. The tap beer selection was decent too. I'd eat and drink here again.
